KAUSHIKI AMAVASYA ANUSHTHAAN

On Bhadrapada Krishna Paksha Chaturdashi comes Aghora Chaturdashi / Tara Chaturdashi. 

And on the following Amavasya comes Kaushiki Maha Amavasya, also known as Aghora Amavasya. 

Kaushiki Amavasya is considered one of the most powerful tantric nights dedicated to the fierce, protective and transformative forms of the Divine Mother. 

It is associated with Maa Kaushiki, Tara, Pratyangira and the Aghora Shakti—forces invoked for protection, removal of negativity, spiritual strength, destruction of obstacles and the restoration of divine order.

Traditionally, this period is regarded as especially significant for: 

• Mantra siddhi
• Yogini siddhi
• The grace of the Matrika Shaktis
• The blessings of the Lok Yoginis
• Appeasing and strengthening the Kul Devi
• Protection from negative tantric influences
• Breaking patterns of fear, obstruction and energetic disturbance

 WHY IS THIS PERIOD CONSIDERED INTENSE? 

The days surrounding this Amavasya are active for both protective and destructive tantric practices. 

Practices such as abhichara, kritya tantra, marana, uchchatana and vidveshana are said to be performed during this period.
